Seas the Depth

A scuba diving destination for education, inspiration and connection.

Rahim and Stephanie

Welcome to Seas the Depth, we're Stephanie and Rahim.

We met a couple of years ago at a dive site in Vancouver, BC. Rahim was finishing up a solo dive, and Steph was on a lunch break while assisting with a PADI Rescue course.

Our first hangout was a night dive followed by a drink on the beach. Our passion for scuba diving brought us together and this scuba buddy partnerships has taken us on many adventures above and below water.

We want to continue fostering scuba connection and community to keep more people diving.

About Rahim

Rahim is an experienced scuba diving and technical instructor teaching under PADI, TDI, SDI and DAN for over 10 years.

Rahim started his journey in the underwater world in the summer of 2011 in the Indian Ocean while living on the southern coast of Tanzania. After a trip to Roatan in 2012 he was hooked on diving and quickly worked his way to instructor in the fall of 2012.

Rahim has been teaching diving ever since with over 700 people certified. Although he has dove in many tropical and warm water destinations, he still prefers the local cold water dive sites off the Pacific North West.

In 2017, Rahim decided to enter the deeper world of technical diving. After gaining lots of technical experience, 1200 sidemount dives, and over 250 decompression dives, he decided to become a technical instructor with TDI and PADI in early 2021.

In late 2020, Rahim embarked into the silent world of closed circuit rebreather diving and has loved every minute of it so far. With over 100 hours on his CCR he is now certified as a Normoxic Trimix diver.

He is currently doing his TDI advanced Trimix training.

About Stephanie

Stephanie began her scuba diving journey getting her Open Water certification in Jamaica on December 31, 2015 (talk about a Happy New Year)! Quickly falling in love with underwater adventures she completed her Advanced Open Water less than 4 months later.

Over the next few years she escaped Ontario winters and spent sunny vacations in the  Caribbean, Central and South America where she could scuba dive in locations like Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Turks and Caicos.

Ready to the the next step she completed her Rescue Diver in 2019 in anticipation of a travel year in 2020, where she hoped to complete her Divemaster in SouthEast Asia.

While travel plans took a drastic turn in 2020, it ultimately lead Stephanie to adventure to the West Coast of Canada. Landing in Vancouver, BC in October 2020 she took on a role at a local dive shop where she could learn cold water and work towards her Divemaster Certification.

Although the cold water and drysuits wasn't an immediately love, Stephanie eventually became hooked on diving in the Pacific North West. Advancing her training through specialties like Deep and Wreck diving allowed for more adventure underwater.

Stephanie completed her Divemaster certification in early 2023 and recently did her sidemount training. Up next she'll be diving into the wonderful world of technical diving.
